I stayed for a month in one of the bungalow rooms at Mr & Mrs Hien's and Ms Giang's Dalat Family Homestay.
I am very happy to recommend it for new visitors to Dalat, who are looking for the following things.
a quiet and private ground floor room, separated from the house. There are two adjoining bungalows in an independent building, about 50m from a quiet cul-de-sac road. At the time of my stay, May 2015, there was a similarly aged long term tenant in the other bungalow, who was most helpful and obliging.
a secure situation -- there is a lockable gate entrance to the property
a shady situation, sheltered from the heat of the midday sun.
a natural environment -- the bungalow is in the back garden, under avocado trees, where squirrels run about in the branches, and roosters and hens sing to you in the morning.
a very nice breakfast, brought to you every morning by Mrs Hien.
a weekly clothes wash done by Mrs Hien.
a good cellphone signal -- the tower is right behind the bungalow.
a good WiFi signal, fridge and tv set, and ensuite bathroom.
the aroma of roasting coffee -- there are two coffee factories, one on either side of the property
a good price, for which you need to be prepared to clean your own bungalow, and provide your own sheets and pillow cases. You will also need to manage the times at which you open the windows, so that you can refresh the air in the bungalow.
an interesting neighbourhood
a very friendly and helpful family, who are understanding of travellers, and knowledgeable about Vietnam and its history and culture
a very good Easy Rider service, run by Mr Hien, one of the original Easy Riders.
